JOB DESCRIPTIONAs Counsel-Commercial Insurance, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Middle Market business by providing expert legal guidance on insurance and contractual matters. This position involves drafting and negotiating vendor agreements, developing and revising insurance products and related documents, and collaborating with Compliance professionals to address regulatory issues and special projects. Your counsel will help shape risk management strategies and ensure the business remains compliant and competitive.
This role can sit in our Whitehouse Station, NJ/New York, NY/Jersey City, NJ/or Philadelphia, PA offices.
Major Functional Responsibilities:
- Counsel the Commercial Insurance Middle Market business on a wide range of insurance and contractual matters.
- Draft and negotiate vendor agreements and provide counseling to our Risk Engineering Services group.
- Develop, draft, review and revise new and existing insurance products, as well as endorsements, contracts, marketing materials and other ancillary documents associated with such policies.
- Consult and provide interpretation on language development and analysis.
- Collaborate with Compliance professionals to counsel the business on regulatory issues and assist in responding to regulatory criticisms, complaints, and exams.
- Research and draft memoranda on relevant insurance, risk management, and contractual issues.
- Work on special projects as assigned by North American Legal & Compliance management.
